About chiropractic & our story

Chiropractic is one of the oldest and most widely used forms of hands-on health care. Here's what it actually is, how we practice it, and why this office exists.

What chiropractic is

Chiropractic is a licensed health profession focused on the relationship between the spine, the nervous system, and how the body functions. A chiropractor is trained to examine that relationship and use precise, hands-on adjustments to restore motion and reduce interference.

An adjustment is a specific, controlled input applied to a joint that isn't moving the way it should. It takes a fraction of a second. Depending on the technique and the person, it may involve a quick, light thrust, sustained fingertip pressure, or a small handheld instrument.

What it is not: forceful cracking of everything that will crack, or a one-size-fits-all routine. Good chiropractic is specific. It addresses what the examination actually found.

Becoming a chiropractor requires a Doctor of Chiropractic degree — a multi-year doctoral program covering anatomy, physiology, neurology, radiology, diagnosis, and technique — followed by national board examinations and state licensure.

Three words that describe what we hope every family gets from care here.

Welcome to Rex Family Chiropractic

My journey into chiropractic care didn't start in a classroom — it started with a search for relief.

During my last year of high school, I began experiencing daily, debilitating headaches. For years, I saw neurologists and trialed countless medications and injections, but nothing gave me my life back. It was actually an acupuncturist who finally suggested I see a chiropractor. At 20 years old, I received my very first adjustment. That day, for the first time in two and a half years, I had a completely headache-free day. That single, life-changing moment was the spark that inspired me to become a chiropractor.

While in chiropractic school, I discovered just how profound this care is for pregnant women and children. While chiropractic care is vital for everyone, I realized the absolute best way to support the nervous system is to start at the very beginning — ideally right in the womb. Birth is a beautiful and natural experience, but it is also physically demanding on both mom and baby. Ensuring a well-aligned pelvis and a balanced nervous system gives baby the optimal room to grow and sets the stage for a smoother birth and recovery.

This passion became personal when I had the joy of guiding both of my sisters through their pregnancies while I was still in school. Supporting them through every step made me fall in love with perinatal care. I knew right then that my mission was to empower women with knowledge, comfort, and unwavering support as they navigate pregnancy and motherhood.

When I envisioned Rex Family Chiropractic, I wanted to create something truly different for Stuart families. From the moment you walk through our doors, I want you to feel an immediate sense of ease — a place that feels less like a clinical office and more like a warm extension of home.

Here, you are never just another appointment on a schedule or another spine to adjust. In a healthcare system where too many people feel overlooked or rushed, we are committed to making sure you are seen, heard, and truly cared for. You have a voice in your health journey, and when you trust us with your family's well-being, we treat that privilege with the utmost respect. If something is ever outside our scope, we will personally help guide you to the right place.

We are so honored to welcome you into our practice family, and we can't wait to support you and your loved ones on your path to vibrant health.

What we believe

Align

The body is built to work

Given the right conditions and less interference, bodies are remarkably good at organizing, healing, and adapting. Our job is to remove obstacles, not to override the system.

Grow

Care should start early

The nervous system is laying down patterns from pregnancy onward. Supporting that process during pregnancy and childhood is easier than unwinding it decades later.

Roar

Don't just survive — thrive

Here we want you to not only survive, but thrive. By clearing the nervous system of interference, you allow the body to function at its maximum potential. So you can ROAR like a dinosaur!

Honest

We'll tell you when it's not us

Chiropractic isn't the answer for everything. If something needs a different provider, we say so and help you get there.

Gentle

Force matched to the person

A newborn and a powerlifter do not receive the same adjustment. Technique is chosen for the body on the table, every single time.

Together

One practice for the household

Caring for a pregnant parent, the newborn, and the older sibling in one place means the whole family's care actually happens.
